Cancellation And General Policies


 

 

1. Deposit & Payment Requirement: • Recording, Production Studios, Podcast Studios– Deposit 50%, Balance Due 48 Hours Prior to booked session • Showcase – Deposit 50% To Book Session, Balance Due 48 Hours Prior to booked session with any additional balance due in full no later than the completion of the session • Standard & Elite Rehearsal Sessions – $45 Deposit (Which Can Be Left As A Floating Deposit For Future Sessions) for Sessions of 2 to 3 Hours.  Standard & Elite Rehearsal Sessions of 4 hours or more require a 50% deposit with balance due in full no later than the completion of the session.  

2. ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE and can be used towards your session that you book or for a session in the future. If you cancel within the proper guidelines stated below you may use your payment and/or deposit for a future session.  Late payments will incur late fees.
Please note, that if you would like to use your deposit towards your session you must tell the manager on duty upon completion of your session. Otherwise, your deposit will be kept as a floating deposit for a future session automatically.

3. Rehearsal/Showcase Cancellations And/Or Changes Policy: One Day’s Notice Is Required For Every Hour Booked. (Example: 4 Hour Booking = 4 Days Advance Notice To Smash). IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL WITH PROPER NOTICE YOU OWE FOR THE ENTIRE SESSION AND WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY. 

4. Recording, Video Production, and Podcast Cancellations And/Or Changes Policy: 1 Week’s Notice Required. IF YOU DO NOT CANCEL WITH PROPER NOTICE YOU OWE FOR THE ENTIRE SESSION AND WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY.

5. Recording, Video Production, and Podcast Cancellations Sessions Booked Within The Same Week Are Not Eligible For Cancellation Or Changes.

6. Snow Storm Cancellation Policy: If Mass Transit Is Suspended, Customers Can Reschedule Their Booking, But Not Cancel. Once The Rescheduling Is Made, No Further Changes Can Occur.

7. Clients Are Required To Check And Read Their Confirmation Emails And Inform Us Of Any Discrepancies Immediately.

8. Studios Do Not Include: Guitars, Acoustic Pianos, Congas, Additional Microphones, ¼ “ Cable, Additional Keyboards, And Other Items Not Already In Place in the Studio Booked.  All Are Available Hourly Rental, Please Ask Manager On Duty for Information.

9. Studios Are Pre-Set With Gear That Comes With That Particular Studio. We Are Not Able To Move Gear From Studio to Studio.

10. Any Repairs Or Replacement Of Equipment Damaged Due To Client Negligence Will Be The Sole Responsibility Of The Client.

11. Large Groups, Parties, And Events Will Have A Surcharge Of At Least 1 Additional Hour For Clean Up At The Studio’s Discretion. Showcase Suites with parties of 20 or more are all assessed a $250 Surcharge.

12. Additional Charges May Apply For The Following: • Tampering Or Changing Sound System Settings • Trash Left In Rooms • Gear Moved Around • Other Issues That May Arise Determined By The Studio

13. All Studios Are Pre-Set For All Sessions. If Clients Move Any Gear (Including Drum Hardware And Cymbals) It Must Be Returned To Original Set Up Or Charges Will Be Incurred.

14. Unauthorized Removal Of Smash Studio Property Will Be Prosecuted To The Full Extent Of The Law.

15. NO SMOKING ANYWHERE On Premises As Required By The New York City Fire Department.
 
16. Customer understands that Smash Studios will provide the equipment listed for each individual studio on www.nyc.smashstudios.com. Customer understands that equipment within the studio may need repair and Smash will substitute broken equipment with something similar.  Customer understands that equipment from different studios cannot be moved.
 
17. Smash Studios is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
 
18. Smash Studios is not responsible for any property broken on or off Studio premises.  
 
19. Smash Studios is not responsible for any equipment or instruments that are not the property of Smash Studios.  In the event that a customer has issues with their equipment, it is not the responsibility of Smash Studios to offer credit or refunds due to any delays or issues caused by that equipment. Smash Studio is not responsible for setting up equipment or instruments brought in by the customer, but “may” do so if time permits.  
 
20. Please note that Smash Studios works on a tiered approach to all studios.  Standard Studios, for example, do not include extensive technical set up by Smash Studios Staff.  Elite and Showcase Studios will be attended to by Smash Studios Staff as first priority.    
 
21. Smash Studios is not responsible or liable for any injuries that may take place or occur at/on Smash Studios premises.
 
22. Location Fee and Authorization Filming or videotaping of any kind at Smash Studios is strictly forbidden without written authorization by Smash Studios Management.  Upon acceptance of any filming, a location fee of $250 will be charged. 
 
23. All Production Set Up Time is Part of the Session Time Booked and Charged.  There is NO Free Pre-Set Up For Recording, Video Production, Podcasts, or  Showcase or Rehearsal Sessions.  
 
New Covid19 Precautions and Guidelines: We are taking the following precaustions starting July 1, 2020
 

Covid 19 Reopening Guidelines and Procedures:

o  All customers will be required to wear masks in public areas (Including, but not limited to entering the building, in the elevators, and in our hallways).

o  We will suggest that all band members wear masks other than singers within Studios.

o  Customers will be required to monitor their own health and not come to sessions if they feel ill or have a fever.  We encourage the rest of bands to still enjoy their sessions as standard cancellation or changes polices will still apply. 

o  Customers will be required to bring their own microphones as we feel this is the best way to keep a fully sanitized and safe studio environment 

o  We will offer sanitized microphones for rent a nominal charge for those who do not have a microphone of their own.

o  We will not be offering free cables, drum keys, capos, and anything that is handled by more than one person, for the foreseeable future, but will have them for sale.  

o  We will have strict limitations on standard, elite, and showcase studios for number of people so that correct social distancing can be applied.

Sanitization of Studio:

o  All Smash Studios Employees will wear masks at all times and gloves when appropriate

o  Hourly all studio door knobs will be wiped down

o  Hourly bathrooms will be cleaned

o  Medical Grade UV lights for will be used to sanitize each studio between sessions

o  Medical Grade Hepa Air purifiers with UV light sanitizer will be in all studios

o  Sessions will be booked with at least 15 minute gaps at least for sanitizing processes between sessions

o  Hand sanitizers will be increased throughout the studio hallways

o  Sanitization wipes will be in each studio so customers can wipe down objects as they like

o  AC filters will be cleaned regularly

Additional Cautionary Measures Available:

o  For those that would like to avoid mass transit, we have worked out a deal with our local Parking Lot (The Meyers Lot next to Sam Ash with and entrance on 35th Street as well) for Smash Studios – Validated Discount Parking of up to 4 hours for $25 (large vehicles may incur a surcharge).

With all provisions being taken by Smash Studios during and thereafter the 2020 Covid 19 Pandemic customers must be fully responsible for their own safety and health.  With full knowledge of the risks involved clients hearby release, hold harmless, and indemnify Smash Studios and it’s employees for any claims due to possible sickness.
